Jillian Harris finished third on The Bachelor. She was beaten out by beauties Melissa Rycroft and Molly Malaney... though many might...

From a matter of months to more than a decade, ABC's The Bachelorette has produced more successful relationships than its male-driven counterpart.

What's the secret to the bachelorettes' success? Well, we have no idea.

Maybe the women are just better at picking them. Maybe the men doling out roses are just a bunch of cads (except THE Bachelor, Sean Lowe, of course).

Whatever the reason, we tune in season after season, hoping the men are there for the right reasons, so our beautiful bachelorettes can ride off into the happily ever after sunset.

Which of the women found love on reality TV? Who said adios during the After the Final Rose special? Let's rank the 10 Bachelorette stars in order of whose relationship lasted longest:

Jillian Harris says she fully supports Brad Womack getting a second chance on The Bachelor. She might even be feeling a little jealous of him, in fact.

The Bachelorette star chose Ed Swiderski. That didn't work out.

"I won't lie that when I heard he was getting a second chance, I was a bit green-eyed and thought seriously about hitting my [The Bachelor creator] Mike Fleiss speed dial, demanding he cough up my second chance, too," she writes.

Hot Brad Womack

Jillian also commented on the infamous season premiere slap.

"When Chantal slapped Brad on the The Bachelor season premiere, he responded that he liked her more. I had to hold myself back from leaping through the screen to slap him again! Not because he deserved it, but because he didn't!"

"I am very much on the supporting side of this second chance debate. In fact, I'm floored at the pressure put on Brad by himself, the media, and the girls."

Former Bachelorette contestant Julien Hug was found dead yesterday. The star of the season he appeared on, Jillian Harris, is “completely heartbroken” over it.

“I am completely heartbroken for the Hug family. My whole heart goes out to them today as they mourn a precious life that ended far too soon,” Harris said.

“It’s very difficult to find the words to express my condolences.”

Julien Hug's death hit close to home for Jillian Harris.

Jillian Harris describes Hug’s death as “so so sad” and remembered him fondly. He received a rose the first night and spent some one-on-one time with her.

“I will always remember Julien’s gentle demeanor and kind heart, which will be sadly missed,” she said of the 35-year-old Californian, who had gone missing.

His fellow cast member and longtime friend, Kiptyn Locke, said “I knew him before the season. He was one of the most positive selfless people I knew.”

Jillian Harris is The Bachelorette once again.

No, she's not pulling a Brad Womack and returning to the ABC franchise that made her a star. But she's available (sorta) after splitting with fiance Ed Swiderski.

Jillian Harris Riding Ed Swiderski

Having left his hometown of Chicago for her old apartment in Vancouver, the cutie is dating again, but admits the sting of her broken engagement lingers.

Jillian Harris is dating a pro athlete who will remain nameless!

"It was the last thing I wanted to do," Jillian Harris recently told Us Weekly. "It's terrible to leave because the other person doesn't know what they want."

Harris says she "fought very hard" to save the relationship during a "really sad summer." Of Ed Swiderski, she insists that he's not a bad guy. However ...

"He's just not quite ready to grow up."

We'd say we told you so, but we didn't tell her so. Bethany Steffen and Lindsey Johnson kinda did, however. Dude's probably in a threesome as we speak.

Jillian Harris and Ed Swiderski seemed to be making their relationship work despite rumors of his rampant infidelity in the run-up to their Bachelorette engagement.

But did his cheating ways return, and were they responsible for the couple's split, which we reported yesterday? That's the rumor, according to friends of the pair.

“We think Ed was doing shady stuff during their relationship,” an inside source said of Swiderski. “Jillian knew all along but couldn’t quite put her finger on it.”

We're guessing Lindsey Johnson and Bethany Steffen can relate.

Friends recall an incident a month-and-a-half ago when the pair flew to L.A. from Chicago and Jillian stayed with girlfriends while Ed stayed with the guys.

Ed Swiderski and Jillian

Was Ed Swiderski screwing around behind Jill's back?

The morning after they had a night out on the town, the pals had an early tee-time to play golf but when they went to pick up Ed Swiderski, he couldn’t make it.

“I believe what happened was he had a girl with him and had no way to get her out of the house,” revealed the inside source. “They all knew he was a player.”

Jillian Harris became the star of The Bachelorette after she was rejected by Jason Mesnick in the preceding season of The Bachelor. He married Molly Malaney.

Former Bachelor contestants close to her say she was happy, but knew there was trouble brewing. “Jillian thought that she could change him,” says the insider.

Once a cheater, always a cheater ... right Vienna?

Another Bachelorette couple bites the dust - and one we thought had a shot.

Jillian Harris and Ed Swiderski, who got engaged on the previous season finale of The Bachelorette, have called off their engagement, according to reports.

This leaves Trista and Ryan Sutter as the only Bachelorette couple still together, with Jason and Molly Mesnick the lone survivors from The Bachelor side.

"I love him and I'm really sad, but I have to look out for me," Jillian Harris said.

"We're both kind of resetting," Swiderski added. "Jillian isn't happy and I'm definitely sad about the whole thing, but we've got to work through some things."

Ed says that they will do so "on our own if we decide to move forward."

Jillian and Ed called it quits. Did you see that coming?

We don't expect this to turn into a public war of words like the split between Bachelor stars Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi. But it's still a sad situation.

Last August, reports swirled about Ed Swiderski juggling two girlfriends while wooing Harris on the show (and even slept with one after proposing to her).

They seemed to be fine, as the couple mostly stayed out of the spotlight, then announced their wedding plans on this past season finale of The Bachelor.

But recently, things apparently took a turn for the worse.

"There's bumps on the road, and we don't always deal with them properly," Harris said in an interview just last month. "Our life is not always perfect."

Sorry to hear it ... but call us, Jill. You can do better. As for Ed, is it too late for him to rock those '70s-style basketball shorts on Bachelor Pad?

Former Bachelorette star Jillian Harris didn't care for Vienna Girardi.

She's not the only one, either. The woman chosen by Bachelor star Jake Pavelka, who Jillian turned down on her season, was not exactly a fan favorite.

But after getting to know Vienna Girardi, Jillian's changed her tune.

“She’s a doll. I like her as a person,” Harris said. “I saw how she brought out a better side of him.” As for the best advice she can give Jake and Vienna?

Tune out celebrity gossip!

“What happens on the internet or on TV, or the speculations that people make does not define the outcome of our life,” said Harris. So deep. Profound.

Harris, who battled rumors of Ed Swiderski, her fiance from The Bachelorette, railing various girls during his stint on the show, says she filters out the noise.

Also, she says to give love time.

“You don’t really fall in love until 3-6 months after the show ends,” she said. “Luckily with Ed, we are a lot alike, we have the same values, we have the same upbringing ... While we met on the show, I really fell in love with him after.”

Jillian Harris and Ed Swiderski are still engaged, although they have not set a wedding date as of yet. Will she and Ed beat Jake and Vienna to the altar?

Either way, she's settling into her new home of Chicago, where Ed works as a computer software consultant when he's not molesting Lindsey Johnson.

Jake Pavelka? He's cleaning house on Dancing with the Stars.

From The Bachelorette to Extreme Makeover: Home Edition!

The lovely Jillian Harris recently traveled to Slaughterville, Okla., where she pitched in to rebuild the home of Brian and Audra Skaggs, whose two-year-old son, Jhett, has a weakened immune system after receiving a heart transplant.

“The Skaggs reminded me of ‘my kind of people,” says Jillian, who is still engaged to Bachelorette winner Ed Swiderski. “They love country music, campfires, family.”

Something about that hard hat definitely suits Jill, too ...

Jillian Harris is never afraid to get her hands dirty.

Her expertise as an interior designer certainly came in handy, but Jillian says she also benefited personally from the experience on the feel-good reality show.

“After catapulting into the public eye, getting my heart broken, traveling the world, then falling in love, getting engaged, all while traveling the world again, and then dealing with a public media storm, I was frazzled,” Jillian says.

“I missed the ‘regular,’ spunky energetic Jilly, and worried if she would ever come back. As cliché as it sounds, this experience brought me back to me."

It was also one that made her cry: “The entire process brought me to tears,” says the Canadian cutie. “happy tears, grateful tears and tears of hope.”

Somehow we can't see Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi reacting similarly to such a situation, but that's just us. What an adorable sweetheart Jillian is.

For Jersey Shore's DJ Pauly D, Valentine's Day means a special mix of music guaranteed to make your girl's panties hit the floor faster than you can say "GTL."

For Jillian Harris and Ed Swiderski, their first February 14 as a couple meant escaping the chill of Chicago by spending a 10-day vacation in Maui with family.

“I think we are likely going lean on each other for our first Valentine’s together,” Harris says. “We’ll likely be getting each other a Mai Tai and maybe a nice lei!”

That's a positive change for Ed, who was accused of giving two other girls a nice lay while wooing Jillian's heart last summer on ABC's The Bachelorette.

Outside of surfing lessons and skydiving at their dreamy beach location, Harris says she and Ed Swiderski are planning a relaxed and low-key holiday break.

Ed and Jillian defied the tabloids and stuck together.

“For a romantic Valentine’s Day," she says. "Focus on each other. Put those darn phones and computers away and have a good old-fashioned conversation!”

“I love talking about things I am grateful for. It always puts me in a good mood, so it's great little way to show someone what you really love and can’t live without!”

“V-Day is all about love, love, love. Don’t forget to be extra kind to everyone. Smile and say hello to passersby on the street and lend a hand to those in need.”

This girl is so nice it's nauseating. We're thrilled for Jillian and fiancee Ed, assuming he's good to her, just as we are for Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney.

Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi, though? Jury is still out there.

Jillian Harris chose Ed Swiderski on the season finale of The Bachelorette this summer, shunning fan favorites Reid Rosenthal and Kiptyn Locke and sparking much debate over whether she made the right choice, given Ed's alleged cheating.

They've weathered the storm, however, and will be making an appearance on the January 4 season premiere of The Bachelor to "advise" new star Jake Pavelka.

Jake, who was rejected by Jillian Harris last season, will get her take on who to boot among first batch of women. Jillian and Ed also have an "announcement."

"Just as the women think it's time for The Bachelor star to hand out the coveted first impression rose, Chris announces a twist," an ABC press release teases.

"The ladies not only must impress Jake, but also last season's happy couple: Jillian and Ed. The women cheer as the former Bachelorette and her fiancé join Jake to help him with his tough decision, hoping that he will find a love like theirs."

Jake Pavelka will get a little help from his friends.

Could the announcement by Jillian and Ed possibly be that they've set a wedding date? Or that they're helping kill time on what should by no means be a two-hour season premiere? Probably both! And who are we kidding, we can't wait.

Will Jake Pavelka be a good Bachelor?
