Should inmates be allowed to switch prisons if they feel their safety is in jeopardy…especially when they are convicted murderers? Evidently so! Phil Spector is serving a life sentence for the murder of Lana Clarkson, and has been granted a move to another facility. Unfortunately for him, he has since discovered that the new digs have been contaminated with a deadly fungus.

Spector has been incarcerated at California Substance Abuse Treatment Facility & State Prison in Corcoran. This week he is expected to be moved to Pleasant Valley State Prison in Coalinga. This poses a problem for the convicted murderer because he has learned that in the past four years a total of sixteen inmates have died from ‘Valley Fever’. Phil’s concerned wife Rachelle Short spoke with Page Six about the issue.

“They are sending Phil there to die. He is scared to death. When I saw him on Saturday, he was shaking…He’s 70 years old and 130 pounds…We are trying to appeal over this, but he’s been told he has no time. He’s already been given his bus pass out of Corcoran.”

Did Lana get a choice when she was murdered…asked if she was scared? We think not! Check out Phil’s mugshot here…he’s bald!
