A day after Usher released a statement and thanked the heroes who rushed to his son's side after the five-year old nearly drowned on Monday, Tameka Raymond has posted a photo of little Usher Raymond V on Instagram.
The singer's ex-wife is cradling her child in the image and included with it a caption that reads:
"My favorite 5-year-old. What a blessing! I have always loved and appreciated my sons but tragedies and close calls make this even more evident."
It's a sweet sentiment and message... but it's hard not to also see those words as a veiled attack on Usher, considering Tameka is taking him to court and fighting to regain custody of her kids.
Raymond believes Usher is a negligent father who too often leaves the former couple's children in the hands of other people, specifically his aunt.
This aunt was poolside when the toddler got stuck in a pipe and was unable to successfully save little Usher on her own. Eventually, two contractors at the house dove into the water; rescued the kid; and performed CPR before an ambulance arrived.
A hearing has been set for today to revisit the issue of primary custody between Usher and Tameka.
"She is livid," a source close to Foster tells People. "Usher has custody and won't let Tameka have the kids, even when he's out of town. She feels like the kids are being raised by his family or by nannies, when they should be with their mother."
