Ivanka Trump is blasting a report that claimed she and her siblings staged an intervention, asking father Donald Trump to back off his public bashing of President Obama.

The Trump heiress took to Twitter today to call out the N.Y. Daily News:

“I totally respect @realDonaldTrump’s opinions & right to articulate them, which is what I would’ve told @nydailynews if they’d call me to fact check their false story,” she wrote.

The Trump patriarch has taken a ton of heat – and kept late night talk show hosts in business – thanks to his repeated diatribes throughout the 2012 election cycle.

A year and a half ago, he was beating the drum for Obama’s birth certificate to be released, insinuating repeatedly that the Commander-in-Chief was not a U.S. citizen.

Obama eventually released the document, then eviscerated the Donald at the WHCA dinner.

In 2012, he made a “bombshell” offer to donate $5 million to charity if Obama – who he continues to bash repeatedly and publicly – produced his passport and college records.

This month, he ranted against the sham election and end of democracy as we know it.

The level of vitriol was off-putting to many; according to the Daily News, his heirs decided to confront him and ask him to tone it down for the good of the Trump name.

According to Ivanka, this never happened … although the way things are going for him lately, the fake sources the paper got this from may be on to something.

He was our #1 Turkey of 2012, after all … and there’s a Macy’s Dump Trump petition.
