Is The Bachelorette looking within the ABC reality ranks for its new star?
Rumors are flying that none other than Dancing With the Stars' Cheryl Burke is "in the running" to be the dating show's next lucky lady looking for love.
A source close to the show says: "Cheryl has been in talks with producers to be the next Bachelorette and they think she'd be a really good choice."
However, another source - at E! - tells a somewhat different story.
Burke has in fact met with ABC to talk about doing some sort of reality show and The Bachelorette has been mentioned as part of those discussions. That's all.
A show insider says that's as far as things will go with Burke and the show, which is undoubtedly true, as the lucky Bachelorette won't be cast until this spring.
Another source says Burke is "begging to do the show," not the reverse.
The Bachelorette has long mined the stars of the previous Bachelor season: DeAnna Pappas, Jillian Harris, Ali Fedotowsky, Ashley Hebert and Emily Maynard make five straight.
Basically, look for one of Sean Lowe's runners-up to star.
On a random note, Burke's DWTS Maksim Chmerkovskiy actually did star as The Bachelor ... in his native Ukraine. How did that work out for him?
