Maxwell Drew Johnson Bikini Photo: Too Cute or Too Soon?

by at . Comments

Jessica Simpson's diet and post-pregnancy body aren't the only reasons she's making news this week. Check out this new photo of her baby girl Maxi!

Yep, that's little Maxwell Drew Johnson, age four months, rocking a bikini.

Jess revealed the pic on Katie Couric's talk show this week, immediately drawing criticism from some parenting groups who took issue with the image.

Maxwell Drew Johnson Bikini Photo

Kidscape called it "inappropriate" and implied that baby bikini photos like this one "contribute to the sexualization and commercialization of childhood."

Jessica Simpson, sexualization and commercialization do go hand-in-hand.

There's no question kids grow up too fast, but at the same time, can Maxi really be objectified at four months? Can mom have no fun dressing her?

We can see both sides. Tell us what you think below:

Thank you very much Cher, that is my point exactly, stupid ass fucking people, how the hell do you see anything sexual about a baby in a baby bathing suit. If it was a baby boy in a bathing suit not trunks it wouldn't be an issue but since its a baby girl, that you all f...King morons have a problem. Get the fuck out of here stupid, ignorant hoes

WTF, you all that think a baby in a baby bikkini is sexual are so fucking stupid, people that think such stupid shit are the ones that are sick, if looking at this innocent baby makes you think that way, than you are the one with the fucking problem , get a life ......

Sexualization?WTF? I guess there are many sick people out there that think this is sexy. Like someone commented about diaper commercials. I totally agree with what you said. There are commericials with babies getting bathed. Is that sexualization too? I think it is cute.

I really think that at four months there is nothing to sexualise, unless you're the kind of sick person who sees children that way already. Kids should be free to wear little or no clothing. I always loved being naked when I was under 5.

I think any one that sees this as a "sexualized" photo is the one with the problem and needs some mental help immediately. If she was shirtless with a diaper on, like babies in commercials are all the time, would this even be an issue? Her momma is having some fun dressing up her beautiful baby girl. I take exception with anyone who finds a 4 month baby a creature of sexuality. As a matter of fact, it creeps me out to the umpteenth degree that ANYONE could look at that photo and see any thing REMOTELY sexual about it. THOSE are the sick people. NOT Jessica Simpson who is just playing dress up with her new, beautiful doll of a daughter. Y'all need to get your heads checked. Bunch of pedophiles.

This is the cutest pic! How is this different from little 5 yr olds wearing bikinis. I see it at the pool all the time. I agree with everyone else people who thinks there is something wrong with it is sick themselves. Momma is obviously proud and happy with her baby. Back off!

It's perfectly fine to dress up your babies in bikinis, as long as there's no malice behind it. My baby niece used to wear a cute little pink two-piece before she grew out of it. However, in this case, there are 2 things to consider: 1) how ugly the bikini in the photo is, and 2) how the mother is Jessica Simpson, which already implies some mild malice behind it.

OMG How is it any different to when theres a picture of a baby wearing just a diaper. We all should just be marveling in how fricken adorable Maxwell Drew Johnson is : )
