Who Won The Glee Project?

There were no losers on the finale of The Glee Project last night.

Following an offseason in which numerous cast members were supposedly fired, only for creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuck to scramble and explain that no one was actually fired, this Lifetime reality competition took a different tact:

Everyone was hired!

Samuel Larsen, Damian McGinty, Lindsay Pearce and Alex Newell

Samuel Larsen and Damian McGinty officially took home the top prizes and will appear on seven episodes of Glee next season, but Lindsay Pearce and Alex Newell  didn't exactly fare poorly themselves: they'll show up on two installments of the Fox hit.

Following finale renditions by all of "Don't Stop Believing" and "Raise Your Glass," along with individual performances, why did Murphy arrive at this decision?

It's not about “any of [the contestants'] individual talents," he said. "It’s about the needs of the show.”

Glee returns for season three on September 20.

    Hey I think that glee is a freat show so it is very clear that I liked the glee project I mean Luke everyone was so strong and talented and for some a specially! It is a great show and now its been finished for ages and it was one of these shows were you never want it to be done but sadly things can't last for ever how ever just so you know I am #1 glee fan no matter what young or old!!!!!

    I REALLY LIKED ALEX, BUT I'M GLAD THAT SOMEONE OTHER THAN LINDSAY WON THE TOP PRIZE, FOR SOME REASON FROM DAY ONE I TOOK AN INSTANT DISLKE TO HER, I REALLY CAN'T EXPLAIN IT, I JUST TURNES THE CHANNEL AND THERE SHE WAS AND I WAS LIKE I CAN TELL I'M NOT GONA LIKE THE GIRL. EVEN THOUGH I DON'T LIKE HER I THINK SHE IS A GREAT ACTRESS, AND SINGER, AND MAYBE GLEE WILL OPEN THE DOORS FOR HER TO DO WHAT SHE LOVES. CONGRATS TO ALL THE SINGERS, AND TO ALL THE WINNERS. EVEN THOUGH I'M GONNA MISS THE ORIGINAL CAST I THINK THIS SHOW IS GREAT AND I WILL CONTINUE TO BE A FAN.
