Jennifer Del Rio, 16 and Pregnant Star, Accused of Slugging Baby Daddy Josh Smith

by at .

Move over, Jenelle Evans. One of the cast members on 16 & Pregnant was paid a visit by cops yesterday after allegedly socking her baby daddy in the face.

Officials in Hillsborough County, Fla., responded to a battery call at the home of 19-year-old Josh Smith after Jennifer Del Rio, 17, allegedly came after him.

Smith told the police that he was trying to break things off with Jennifer when she became "irate" and "punched him in the face and pulled on his shirt."

  • Jennifer Del Rio Mug Shot
  • Josh Smith Mug Shot

Smith says he eventually pushed Del Rio away in self-defense.

Not good for the couple, who aren't exactly strangers to this behavior.

Smith was arrested back in November for allegedly attacking HER and was ordered to complete a domestic violence program. So they've got issues.

Sounds a little like Amber Portwood and Gary Shirley redux, no?

    Just some parent

As a parent I have to say, when teens are allowed to start dating and decide to do such things, it's not the parents fault. Young adults/teenagers or whatever you want to call them have raging hormones and even the greatest or most strict parents in the world will not stop them from doing what they want when they're on their own. It's blatantly simple minded people who search to blame someone else but the one's who are fault for their own actions. Every person on the face of this earth has a mind of their own and will do what they want at some point in time. All I have left to say is, leave the parents out of it except for the one's whom let their under age daughter sleep with their boyfriends in their own house before they are married. As for those who have sons, teach them to stay the hell away from under age girls!

Their poor baby. That kid has little-to-no chance of growing up to be anything other than exactly like them.

Please don't blame these girls' parents for their behavior. I had the most wonderful childhood, loving and nurturing. I still ended up a wild, out-of-control teen pregnant at 18. Kids don't listen, they just don't.

PAK31, you are obviously very old. Wth? What's wrong with someone being young and having an opinion? If you don't watch the show, then you can't make such judgemental statements about it.

Sabrina, you are obviously very young. The whole no one is forcing you/don't watch it statement isn't the point. The point is that this type of programming should not be glorified at all. It's just distasteful. To freespirit, obviously many of these girls are lost and not parented to the fullest. Nice young girls who have parents at home the nurture protect and instill discipline and morals usually aren't like this. Some do get caught up in it but for the most part the actions of some of them are nothing to be admired. THe people on these shows are just nasty and not very decent kind people. why they are glorified is beyond me. The television media is only doing it to line their pockets and at the expense of may young people. So sad.
