Bosnian Protesters Decry "Ignorant" Angelina Jolie
Angelina Jolie has become the target of more criticism, this time regarding her feature directorial debut, not just her hatred of Thanksgiving.
A love story set during the Bosnian War, her film was cut short after rumors that it portrayed a relationship between a rapist and his victim.
The project has sparked protests and was called "ignorant" by a group of women who were victims of sexual violence during the 1990s war.
In a letter to the United Nations refugee agency, for which the movie star is a goodwill ambassador, the Women Victims of War criticized her sharply.
They say they are "deeply concerned about the movie."
"Angelina Jolie's ignorant attitude towards victims says enough about the scenario and gives us the right to continue having doubts," the letter read.
After rumors of the rapist story line surfaced in October, a group of Bosnian War rape victims pressured officials to withdraw Jolie's filming permit.
The rumors proved to be untrue.
The country's minister of culture read the script - about a Bosnian woman who falls in love with a Serb man - and Jolie's permit was reinstated.
However, Jolie earlier this month cut the shooting schedule from 10 days to three and decided to film some of the scenes in Hungary instead.
At the time, Jolie said she wanted to meet with the groups that complained to clear up any misunderstanding, but no meeting ever transpired.
"We have insisted to meet Angelina Jolie since we don't want to be wrongly presented in the world ... Our voices are worthwhile and we should have got much more respect," the WVW letter read. "Angelina has made a big mistake."
"We feel that she did not act like a real UNHCR ambassador and we believe that she has no more credibility to remain the ambassador."
Wait until that big Angelina Jolie drug video leaks!

omg! you people disgust me to a very extreme degree! you are actually acting as though these rape victims are over-reacting! they have EVERY right to be outraged if that's what they really thought the movie was about! how would you feel?!

I just can say: travel the world, meet the people, make new friends and learn something about states and cultures you are not familiar with. If you did it, you would never post that comment.
Do not be misled by prejudice.

1. First it was the news was that it would be her debut as a director, writer and producer. Everything, the whole story originates from HER and there are many, really many articles, do research, please. In no one of them is mentioned whether she made some research on the topic or just drew some fictional sentences on the white paper and rushed to make the movie using such painful tragedy happened in the other part of the world.
2. Second were the protests in the middle of October from the Bosnia women.
3. Third, her representatives PAID to reinstate her permission to shoot after the women’s group protested against her movie. Suddenly on 25 October a few Bosnia refugees took a donation they needed for years with using her name non-stop in every article about it.
But there was no meeting with the victims by her part or clarifying what the story is really if she would like to be honest and respectful with these people and if she is a good will ambassador not only by title but by

OMG, again it shows how lack of knowlage (US) Americans have, it's sad, all this ignorance... I'm sorry to inform you, but USA is not a center of the world. Angelina Jolie is doing nothing good on this planet. Adopting babies all over the world to me looks like a PR campaign (like there is no kids in US that have no parents, why travel so far...oh, I know, by adopting a child in USA there wouldn't be so much publicity) oh, and I just read she donated 60.000$ for bosnian rape victims. 60.000!?! It's like I would give 5$ to someone and brag about it, it's SICK. And we know she'll earn a lot more from them, or the movie if you wish. How ignorant of her to not even educate herself about the history of one country before making war movie...so, so ignorant. I think she is a very sick woman, who enoys seeing other people suffer and pretend to be all sad and shit. SICK!!! The same thing she's doing in Africa and Asia (this are continents, not countrys). In Cambodia (country in Asia) they have

Who cares about the article. I'm just wondering why this woman starved herself while she was pregnant with her twins. Some of these celebs are so obsessed with staying thin that they will sacrifice the health of their babies during pregnancy just to keep their figure. It seems like something is wrong with Angelina's twins. There is a reason why they are kept out of the spotlight. Their heads are bigger than normal. Everytime I see the twins they have caps or something on their head. If this woman has another baby, I suggest she eat at least a carrot or something nourishing during the pregnancy to prevent birth defects. Who cares about her figure. I'm surprised Nicole Richie and Nichole Kidman had healthy babies because these women starved themselves too. Kendra Wilconsin was smart enough to eat while pregnant, and so is Mariah Carey. Pregnant celebs should use Kendra and Mariah as a role models. They are seriously take into consideration the health of their babies over gaini

what is ignorant is people like you who know nothing about war and what bosnian people went thru, if they feel like the story should be told in truth then fair enough, pregnant women were raped, children were murdered fathers were cleansed and so on...there should be a movie to show what all serbs are like..so randyjacksonbutt u go back to playing with toys because this is adult stuff.

In the words of the late Ricky Nelson's famed tune (Garden Party),
you can't please everyone so you got to please yourself. Even though one group of people may be up in arms about this particular movie, another group might learn something or be enlightened by this story.Hopefully there will be a clear understanding for all parties concerned.
