Lindsay Lohan Released on Bail After All

You never know what's going to happen next in Lindsay Lohan saga. The star was released on bail less than 14 hours after a judge jailed her without bail.

Lohan, who violated her probation by failing two drug tests, was taken into custody Friday, pending a full hearing to determine the status of her probation.

Then, all of a sudden, she was freed Friday night after scoring a legal victory when a judge allowed her to post bail - $300,000 - despite the earlier ruling.

Lohan got sprung just before midnight from the Lynwood, Calif., jail.

"She's been cooperative – always has been – the first time, the last time," says L.A. Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore. "Let's hope this is the last time."

Beverly Hills Superior Court Judge Elden Fox's order to hold Lohan without bail was overruled by a supervising judge after her attorney filed an appeal.

However, according to the most recent ruling, the train wreck must be fitted – again – with an alcohol-monitoring bracelet within 24 hours of her release.

She's also ordered to stay out of places where "alcohol is the chief item of sale." So basically, everywhere she goes. We'll see how long that lasts. A day?

Lohan is set to return to court Friday, October 22 for a probation violation hearing in her DUI case, prompted by the recent failed mandatory drug tests.

Lindsay apparently confessed to her friends this week that she needed to go back to rehab - not jail - if she was going to defeat her addiction demons.

Despite rumors of her drunk Tweeting about the drug test, sources say she was surprisingly self-aware that she made a big mistake falling off the wagon.

    If the truth be told, Lindsay long ago "brought" the keys to the jail, and they have been thrown away. Only in fairytale land ,good old Hollywood could a young woman who constantly make international headlines could be "threatened" with the prospect of going to jail for bad conduct and mis-behavior walk in and out of the slammer in the dead of night,and continuosly make a mockery of the "Justice System" as the way that the rest of us commoners know it to be.
