Five days after he was hospitalized for a drug overdose, comedian Greg Giraldo has passed away. He was 44.

The celebrity roast specialist and Last Comic Standing judge was admitted to a hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey this week after taking too many prescription pills. His source says it was not a suicide attempt, merely a tragic accident.

“Greg passed away today at the hospital in New Brunswick as a result of an accidental overdose. His family was by his side,” said a friend.

Our thoughts go out to his loved ones.
