Adam Lambert Brings Lasers to American Idol Results Show

by at . Comments

Andrew Garcia and Katie Stevens were both eliminated from American Idol last night.

This wasn't a shocking result, but it was a sad one, as both contestants shed tears during the episode-concluding montage of their time on the show. We wish Andrew and Katie the best of luck.

On a more positive note, Adam Lambert performed his latest single ("Whataya Want From Me") about 45 minutes into the hour.

Donning a colorful suit, skinny tie and, of course, a bit of guy-liner, last year's runner-up put on an emotional rendition of the single - and used lasers on stage.

"I wanted to do something a little different," Adam said to Ryan Seacrest afterwards, later giving thanks to the show: "I owe American Idol everything."

Humble and incredibly talented? That's the Adam Lambert we know and love...

Adam you arethe best that I have ever seen on All Idol shows. You have the X factor plus more. My friend you are so inspiring and motivating that those with talent should watch all your performances and be guided by them. You are absolutely amazing and have never measured up to anyone that I have seen performing in live performances. You are truly amazing and I hope that you have lots of more years of entertaining for us.

Adam was incredible on AI!!!! The only problem is I can't get enough of him. He was the EVER best highlight of AI this season and all the other seasons. LOVE THE GUY AND WILL ALWAYS CONTINUE FOLLOWING HIS CAREER.

You folks who think Adam Lambert has a one-dimensial fan base - you're not really informed. I don't expect you to follow Lambert's career like some of us do, not at all, but if you did you would see that Lambert actually has a very well rounded fan base and legions and legions of teen to 20's fans. He has fans of different ages, skin color, social standing, financial backround, orientation, etc. etc. I haven't quite put my finger on what exactly it is that naysayers get out of critizing Lambert's fanbase... do they think it's unbecoming to Lambert and therefore going to diminish his success somehow??? I don't quite know, but either way, most Lambert detractors who comment on this particular issue concerning Lambert as an artist, are way off the mark... if you informed yourselves even slightly, you would discover how hugely DIVERSE his fan base actually is in reality.

It is strange how guys are totally not digging Adam. He mainly seems to have a female following and they are old. I think guys that are straight might feel that if they say they like his music, then they are suspect of being gay. How sad. That is the way it is. When I bring up Adam to my guy friends, they go ewwwww. Why is that. Elvis and Michael Jackson had lots of guys in their audiences, didn't they? I guess it is Adam's dyed hair, makeup and bondage outfits he wears sometimes that scare them off. How can he become a success with just old woman screaming him for a few young ones.

WOW! Once again, Adam Lambert has taken us on a musical, visual journey! Have not seen a performance like the one on Idol in decades and decades. Sure brought some life into this Season's American Idol. He just leaves you wanting more. Congratulations Adam!

Someone hit it right on the head, Adam is like Liberace was in showmanship and the older woman following him. Very few men were in his audience. He wore makeup, dressed outlandishly and had a lot of men in his entourage. This is interesting.

I AM NOT ADAM'S USUAL AUDIENCE-BEING OVER 50 AND GENERALLY HAVING MAINSTREAM CONVENTIONAL TASTES IN MUSIC-BUT ADAM WILL BE A GLOBAL SUPERSTAR-THE BEST NEW AND ORIGINAL ARTIST FOR YEARS- TALENTED-AREAL SHOWMAN AND FOR ME THE MAIN REASON I WATCHED IDOL LAST WEEK

As far as Adam's fans being "older women", so were Elvis' fans and look how successful he was. But Adam has fans of ALL ages and BOTH genders which is obvious in the audiences of all his online performance videos.

I just don't get these people that adore Adam Lambert. They are a minority, but very rabid. He will never have really big hits, if he does not try to relate to the mainstream. He is soooo outlandish and with that over done eye makeup, I am surprised he has any fans. Yes he has a good voice, but doubt I will ever buy any of his music. He minor success is just a mystery and really in a few years he will be a Liberace type of entertainer. Liberace had this group of older woman that adored him and filled his Las Vegas shows. That is what I predict for Adam, unless he normalizes his look and plays down his freak. BTW I could care less that he is gay. I don't judge people on their personal private choices. If Adam had kept the look he had on AI 8, I think he would have appealed to more people. Now he just looks freakish.

American Idol Quotes

Brooke White's tears come from the authentic, good soul that she is. Her heart was breaking because she was overwhelmed with the experience she had with the show and the gift that it brought.

I read some of this online this morning and just for the record, the rumors — they’re not true. She’s part of our family and we love her.
