Adam Lambert Laments Loss of Simon Cowell on American Idol (to Oprah!)

When two global icons sit down for a televised chat Tuesday afternoon, we can now confirm one topic of discussion:

Adam Lambert and Oprah Winfrey will talk about Simon Cowell's departure from American Idol. How does the singer feel about that news?

“The audience will definitely miss Simon,” he said. “The contestants will miss out on really honest criticism. Sometimes it can be a little personal, and I know other contestants took it to heart sometimes and got really stressed out about what he would say. [But] I think that that’s important to making you a better performer."

But, don't worry American Idol fans, Lambert says the show will most definitely go on... and one.

“Ultimately, after the first couple weeks of auditions, the audience tunes in every week for the contestants. [Audiences] grow fond of one or a couple of the people and they get behind them and they’re invested in them... we tune in to hear the contestants blossom or not.”

Adam will also perform the single "Whataya Want From Me" on the show. You can watch its official music video NOW.

I BASICALLY AGREE WITH EVERYONE - I WILL BE WATCHING AMERICAN IDOL FOR A FEW WEEKS JUST TO SEE HOW ELLEN AND SIMON HIT IT OFF. FROM WHAT I HEARD SIMON WAS 1.1/2 HOURS LATE FOR ELLEN ON HER FIRST NIGHT AND SHE DEFINITELY WAS NOT IMPRESSED....AFTER WATCHING FOR A FEW WEEKS THEN I WILL BE TURNING IT OFF...NOT THE SAME WITHOUT PAULA, AND WILL DEFINITELY WILL NOT WATCH THE SHOW AFTER SIMON HAS GONE ....TOO BAD IT WAS A GREAT SHOW, ESPECIALLY LAST YEAR WHEN ADAM APPEARED...

I'll certainly agree with "areyoukiddingme" that Lambert wasn't as impressive on AI as he is on many of the CD tracks, but you simply can't say that Kris won because of talent. Record sales prove that even those who voted for Kris don't really care about his music.

You guys have said it all, here in NZ we have to wait a week to see the program you have just seen, but I for one dont think they can top Adams season, its all collapsed in a big heap around them, there is some poetic justice in that.

You people have got to be kidding me. Adam has no talent in my eyes. When he sang Aerosmith, he completely butchered the song. He doesn't sing, he screams. If thats pure talent then sign me up for Idol.
And by the way, get off the high horse about people disliking him because he is gay. I one hundred percent back up the gay community and I still couldn't stand his singing.

So this woman who won't have rappers on her program because of salacious rap lyrics WILL NOT ONLY HAVE ON HER PROGRAM BUT EMBRACE lambert who performed the MOST OUTRAGEOUS family time TV viewing in the history of televison???

I thought I was seeing things, his performance was so outrageous. I hope Oprah is removed from the airways FOREVER!!!

American idol did'nt just find the best male singer in a long time (adam lambert), they also found in him a brilliant entertainer together with a charismatic media magnet...those 3 qualities will be very hard to ever duplicate. I will never watch this show again as season 8 proved corruption is rife no matter how decent a facade is projected on the screen.

Regardless of what you may find on Google, "irregardless" is still a double negative and is therefore incorrect.

"Irregardless is an informal term meaning regardless or irrespective, which has caused controversy since it first appeared in the early twentieth century. Most dictionaries list it as "incorrect" or "nonstandard"."

"Used by people who ignorantly mean to say regardless. According to webster, it is a word, but since the prefix "ir" and the suffx "less" both mean "not or with" they cancel each other out, so what you end up with is regard. When you use this to try to say you don't care about something, you end up saying that you do. Of course everyone knows what you mean to say and only a pompous, rude asshole (that would be me) will correct you."

    Irregardless
Those who use it, including on occasion educated speakers, may do so from a desire to add emphasis. Irregardless first appeared in the early 20th century and was perhaps popularized by its use in a comic radio program of the 1930s.

Oh Lordy, did someone just say "irregardless"??? *stares*

Back on topic... I will be watching American Idol this year to see how Simon and Ellen interact. It should be entertaining. I think this should be the last season. It's done its dash.
