Marilyn Manson: Evan Rachel Wood is My Soul Mate

Welcome to the Freak ShowMarilyn Manson split with his wife, Dita Von Teese, late last year. Maybe you heard.

But don't worry, fans: the goth shock rocker has already found a new soul mate.

"I've found my double, my twin, my soul mate, with my new girlfriend, Evan Rachel Wood," the 38-year-old rocker tells France's Le Parisien newspaper.

"She's 19 and certainly that's very young," Manson added, "but that's not a problem for me. She likes the same things as me. She understands I like to get up when night falls and go to sleep at dawn."

In that case, we'd think Lindsay Lohan would be a better fit. But alas.

A solo Manson was in Paris for three days to promote his upcoming sixth album, Eat Me, Drink Me (gross).

He said depression and his ongoing divorce from Dita Von Teese inspired the project.

"Our relationship ended at Halloween," he tells the paper.

"I was completely destroyed psychologically. I'd rented a house and begun working on this disc, which sort of tells everything that happened to me during the past year."

Manson - whose real name Brian Warner â€" and Von Teese â€" a.k.a. Heather Sweet - wed in December 2005, and sources say that Manson's relationship with Wood was a factor in Von Teese's decision to file for divorce on December 29.

"I was married to someone who wanted me to change," Marilyn Manson says.

"Become more adult, more responsible. I began not to like myself, not like what I do. I lost my identity. Everything began collapsing around me. The record allowed me to put an end to that. Dita left at Christmas while I was recording."

According to his Web site, Manson first met Wood when he asked her to be in his upcoming horror film, Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll.

Manson, who used to see Dita Von Teese nude on a fairly regular basis, says the film, which he directed and which features Wood and British teen model Lily Cole sharing the role of Alice in Wonderland, will be out in October.

Von Teese, who cited "irreconcilable differences" in her filing, recently told People she and Manson "are not friends ... But we don't hate each other or anything."

That's nice. Maybe with the passing of time, they can be on even better terms, the way Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee are progressing in their relationship.

He must be the vamp who sucked dry Hawking! :o Ah, the intelligence that drips from his lipstick... Have to congratulate him for sniffing out the opportunity, though. Congradz, surfer boy! You did a swell job recognizing America's potential.

    Eeek, patterned people! :(

I agree with many who have commented on the poor composition of this article. I dislike articles like this, simply because they're biased. The purpose of an article is to be informative, and should not spark prejudice.
Also, perhaps you should look a little deeper into the material you criticize. If you were literate and well-informed, perhaps you'd realize parallels between works of literature. Obviously, you know nothing about Manson; this is evident. I can't help but wonder if you've ever taken the time to look into his work, aside from bashing it.
But back to my previous complaint, about first researching a topic before writing about it; the comment about Manson's album Eat Me, Drink Me is completely unnecessary. Knowing Manson's fascination with Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, which is made evident through his upcoming movie Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll, did you think to take the time to actually research this? The cake Alice eat

I find this article hilarious in how biased it is, and some of these comments on how biased they are too in the opposite way. Why doesn't everyone just admit they really don't know either Marilyn or Evan and that they can't judge wether or not they will be good for eachother because we really don't know what they're feeling. After all, everything we know about them is caused by the media anyways. Let them just live their lives and stop worrying about it and if "the girl needs some work," they have nothing to do with us.

its not right to blame one person (dita)! manson is blame for it too! im a fan and i always wish a good life and happiness for him but i wont say hes always right! and i think that he really needs to change some of his ways ! not for his fans not for anyone else just for himself in order to have a better life!

So Marilyn Manson has had a rocky love life. What of it? How many of us have done things in the past we're not particularly proud of--things that make us want a do-over or five? Manson is no or less human than anyone else, and being human, he has flaws. His problems and heartbreaks become water cooler cud because of his fame and the fame of the women he loves. I think he still scares many people, and that keeps the general public ignorant of his deeply artistic and volatile personality. Guess what? Marilyn Manson has emotions, just like the rest of us. At this point, he is celebrating the emotion of love with Evan Rachel Wood. More power to them.

I love Marilyn Manson... It's kinda sad though. He has had some love trouble... I hope he finds someone perfect ^_^

I admit that I've got reservations about the relationship, but the more I hear about them, and every day they stay together, I cut it just a little more slack. They certainly seem happy; their show-pony antics are a bit much, but ah well. A recently divorced middle-aged shock-rocker is entitled to a bit of flamboyancy.

Gawd, can't help but wonder if her parents are just /dying/ inside.

People rail against Mr. Manson for moving on so quickly ... come on, how many of us have been in relationships that have died on the vine long before anyone was made aware. As far as the age difference, Mr. Manson and Ms.Wood connect on spiritual and intellectual levels that judgmental fools cannot, nor dare try, to understand. Thank you, Mr. Manson, for providing music that has literally changed my life, to Ms. Wood for making this brilliant man happy, and, of course, to Ms. Von Teese, for a beauty and style that will never go out of style. She may hurt, but she will survive.
