Jenelle Evans is a goner.
Mere days after the controversial reality star's husband murdered her family's dog, Nugget, Teen Mom 2 producers followed through on what had been rumored all week:
They gave Evans the proverbial pink slip.
She will soon join David Eason on the unemployment line.
How did it come to this? And what did MTV say in its statement?
Scroll down to find out!
It Had to Come to This, Right?
Evans was being featured less and less often on the current season of Teen Mom 2 because her husband had been fired from the show.
With cameras refusing to shoot any scene that included Eason, this lessened Jenelle's role to a tremendous degree.
She Tried to Make Herself Relevant Again
So, Yes, Evans Saw the Writing on the Wall
And this was BEFORE Eason beat little Nugget bloody and then shot the dog dead.
This Really Did Happen
Eason has admitted to killing the canine because he claimed it attacked his daughter, Ensley.
This is What Jenelle Wrote in Response:
Nugget... I’m crying everyday. I love you so much and I’m so sorry. I’m speechless. You were my side kick and knew the moment I felt bad and would cuddle with me. You still had a lot to learn and a lot to grow from your lessons. Everyday I wake up you’re not here, when I come home you’re not here, when I go to bed... you’re not here. You’re gone forever and there’s no coming back.
And This is What Eason Said About It:
I dont give a damn what animal bites my baby on the face... whether it be your dog or mine, a dog is a dog and I dont put up with that shit at all. I'm all about protecting my family, it is my lifes mission. Some people are worth killing or dying for and my family means that much to me.
And This is How He Concluded His Defense:
You can hate me all you want but this isnt the first time the dog bit Ensley aggressively. The only person that can judge weather or not a animal is a danger to MY CHILD is ME.
Fans Are Sick of Evans and Eason
Social media blew up after this incident, with folks calling for Jenelle to be fired.
They've made their opinions very clear.
And Now MTV Has Heeded This Advice
The network has made it official: Evans is not coming back to the Teen Mom franchise.
Here is the Full Statement:
“MTV ended its relationship with David Eason over a year ago in February 2018 and has not filmed any new episodes of Teen Mom 2 with him since. Additionally, we have stopped filming with Jenelle Eason as of April 6, 2019 and have no plans to cover her story in the upcoming season.”
Eason and Evans Now Have Something in Common
In February 2018, Eason was also fired by producers. His sin? A never-ending string of homophobic rants and taunts.
This is What MTV Said at the Time:
“David Eason’s personal comments do not reflect the views of MTV. With six weeks left of production on ‘Teen Mom 2,’ effective immediately, we are ending our relationship with him."
How Did This Go Down?
According to The Ashley
, Evans thought she was going to meet with producers to discuss her future... but then read the same statement you read above.
She Was Blindsided
“Jenelle ended up finding out she was fired at the same everyone else did!” one insider tells The Ashley. “The phone call never even happened like it was supposed to!”
Evans Has Not Commented Yet on Her Firing
But she did say the following to Us Weekly after Eason killed her dog: "At this time, we are dealing with this rough situation. I want to focus on what’s best for me and my kids. [Divorce is] in thoughts, but nothing is finalized."
This Was the First Time She Ever Mentioned Divorce
"I’m too hurt and upset at the fact he did that. It’s taking time to get over this whole situation, and it’s making me feel he’s very cruel and doesn’t have a heart on many ends," she added to Us Weekly.
So... It's Over Between Them?
No. Evans has since returned home and, by all accounts, is living with her violent husband again.
MTV Was Left with Little Choice Here
Following the animal cruelty, numerous advertisers pulled out from the series, including TWIX, Chipotle, Dove Chocolate and animal treats company Greenies. The brands each tweeted that they have a zero tolerance for such behavior and that they did not want to be associated with the series due to it.
Jenelle's Co-Stars Were Also Horrified
“I am very disturbed to hear about the alleged dog incident. I don’t care who you are, but hurting animals is not ok and my heart is breaking over this," said Briana in a statement.
Added Kailyn Lowry:
To say I am disgusted and appalled over David's actions doesn't begin to touch on my true feelings.... I am heartbroken and sickened by what happened to Nugget. I hope that Jenelle and her children are safe and take the necessary steps to get the help that is clearly needed.
And Leah Messer:
"I think the behavior from other cast does reflect on us… and it’s good for our viewers to KNOW we do not condone the evil and hatred behavior!"
And Randy Houska:
“Didn’t Jeffrey Dahmer kill pets?” Randy tweeted. “You aren’t ‘protecting your family’ when you shoot a 10 pound dog that your daughter was tormenting.”
And Even Leah's Mom:
“I would like to say that just because David done this DOESN’T in NO means represent what or how the rest of the TM2 cast treat their animals…so for assumption to be made that ALL the moms are this way you are wrong and sick too!. We are animal LOVERS and would NEVER do what has happened and we find it disgusting. Don’t put blame on others due to someone’s sick behavior. We love animals.”
What Will Jenelle Do Now?
“Jenelle has always said that if she were to ‘leave’ Teen Mom 2 she would have no trouble getting another network to sign her and David,” another source told The Ashley. “She doesn’t seem to understand that everyone in the industry knows what David has pulled. She will have a hard time getting any other shows on her own, and there’s no way it will ever happen if she has David in tow.
Things May Go from Bad to Worse
“Without her MTV money, Jenelle and David only have one or two social media deals that Jenelle is doing, which pay very little, plus the clickbait she puts on her social media,” the source concluded here. “That’s all the money they have coming in at the moment.”
Season 9B is Actually Already Shooting
“All of the other girls have been filming season 9B for weeks,” a show insider tells Radar. “Kailyn and Leah are filming and so is Brianna but not Jenelle.”
Who Will Replace Jenelle?
We don't know, but come on... you know the name who will guarantee the most attention, right?
Yup, Here She Is
God help us all.
