Just so all you apocalyptos out there know, the world is not coming to an end tonight. Sure, there’s going to be plenty of military helicopters, ammo flying and tons of people screaming, but it’s not another terrorist attack—it’s just the latest Will Smith movie!

As the newspapers report:

Don’t be alarmed by the fleet of Black Hawk helicopters and military ships converging on the Brooklyn Bridge tonight – it’s only the new Will Smith movie, police said yesterday.

For the next eight days, these mock military vehicles and more than a thousand extras will shoot an evacuation scene for the next Big Willie blockbuster, “I am Legend.”

The post-apocalyptic sci-fi flick is due out this December.

Filming will start at 4 p.m. and is expected to wrap up weekdays at 10 p.m., police said.

And if you think this all sounds like a funny misunderstanding now, just wait until the high-flying hijinx catches uninformed New Yorkers off-guard and hilarity ensues. Between the cardiac arrests, the frantic phone-calls to 911 and epidemic of widespread panic-attacks, we can’t wait to be there when Mayor Bloomberg reassures everyone the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (and not al-Qaeda) is behind all this.
