Stephen Colbert will file papers tonight or early tomorrow morning for the South Carolina Democratic primary. While he originally planned to bring his brand of ???truthiness??? to both parties, the $35,000 nomination fee for the Republican ticket was too expensive for Colbert, even with his corporate sponsorship.
After registering for the Democratic ballot for the bargain price of $2,500, Colbert still needs approval from the state party’s council, which will decide if his candidacy is nationally viable.
Is that even a question? The man already has 1 Million Strong Facebook supporters, while so called ???real??? candidates are not even close to that. Come on, South Carolina, his candidacy is no more of a joke than Dennis Kucinich’s.
