New Celebrity Trend
The ‘Baby In The Water’ Photo

June 20th, 2007

It seems like every week there’s another new trend in Hollywood, doesn’t it? From Lindsay Lohan’s side-boob to Nicole Richie’s oversized sunglasses to Pete Wentz’s still-to-catch-on “guyliner,” you never know which styles are going to catch on and become “the next big thing.” Fortunately, we’re here to offer you our inexpert opinion on what’s hot…and what’s not.

And what’s hot right now? Celebrity baby pictures. And not just any pictures, mind you. We’re talking “frolicking in the water with my child while the overworked, underpaid nanny takes a two minute bathroom break” pictures.

At far left, Holmes scores extra points for remembering to sport a designer swimsuit and glare disarmingly at the camera while Garner (center) takes great pains to ensure that her daughter not be exposed to any ultra-”Violet” (just like her name!) rays.

Notice how trendsetters Jennifer Garner and Katie Holmes are careful to hold their children adoringly over one arm in order to achieve that “carelessly attentive, beach mother” look.

Meanwhile, landlubber Heidi Klum (right) “misses the boat” entirely, managing only a bittersweet grimace as she and her son stand in front of a dumpster and stare wistfully over at the more fortunate mother-daughter pairings.

Stay tuned for our next edition when we inevitably re-examine the importance of side-cleavage, as exhibited by Beyonce.

Jossip Girls,
You more than nailed this. I was a nanny for a high profile non celebrity for over a year and this is what my life consisted of. The mom looked great in public. Meanwhile those bathroom breaks I took in the house, I usually had to take the children to the restroom with me. That is how uninvolved they are/were with their children!
