A blown cover. A “meh” reunion. Such was Agents of SHIELD Season 2 Episode 5.
Oh, and we got to meet Hunter’s “she-Devil ex-wife” too, so that didn’t suck.
This episode began with HYDRA poisoning wedding guests who were part of an anti-HYDRA unit. It was an unexpected way to start but certainly not an unexplainable one.
What still remains unexplainable, at least to those who cannot read it, is the alien writing certain characters can see.
Skye saw the alien writing on Coulson’s desk and questioned him pretty intensely about it.
After meeting with Ward, Skye learns that Coulson isn’t stable and that the GH serum didn’t affect her. Not having a negative reaction isn’t actually a good thing. That means Skye might be an alien.
Her father, who has taken off once again, isn’t really going to be able to give her any answers. In fact, he’s not even on her side. He’s arrived with the obelisk in Whitehall’s office.
Simmons is back where she belongs thanks to Bobbi Morse, Hunter’s previously mentioned “She-Devil ex-wife.” Just after Coulson let the timer expire, thereby revealing their spy to all of HYDRA, Morse showed up, kicked ass, and Simmons was able to escape.
Well done, team! Well done indeed.
