‘High School Musical’ actor Zac Efron managed to fly under the radar five months ago when he did a stint in rehab to deal with an addiction to cocaine.
He entered an undisclosed treatment facility after filming the Seth Rogen movie, ‘Neighbors,’ in April. According to TMZ, the actor was a no-show on the set of the film on multiple occasions and “it was common knowledge he was struggling with cocaine.”
The website indicates he was also “dabbling in Molly” — a pure form of Ecstasy that is popular in clubs and raves. One incident at MGM Grand SkyLofts in Vegas reportedly resulted in $50,000 in damages.
The ‘Parkland’ actor, 25, resurfaced at the Toronto Film Festival in early September, looking quite well and reportedly “on his best behavior” while promoting the historical drama film that recounts the events following John F. Kennedy’s assassination. The movie hits theaters on October 4, 2013.
Rogen had this to say about his ‘Neighbors’ co-star, “Zac Efron is incredibly handsome. I did a scene next to him, and we’re both shirtless, and it was a very humbling experience. I marveled that we’re literally the same species.”
‘Neighbors’ is slated to be released in May 2014.
