The trial for Howard K. Stern, Dr. Sandeep Kapoor and Dr. Khristine Eroshevich is scheduled to begin August 4. The trio is accused of aiding and abetting Anna Nicole Smith’s prescription-drug habit, which resulted in her death from an accidental overdose in February 2007.
In October, following a three-week preliminary hearing, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge David Wesley ruled that there was sufficient evidence to merit a trial for Stern, psychiatrist Khristine Eroshevich and Dr. Kapoor.
The three pled not guilty to 23 felony counts, including obtaining an opiate prescription by fraud, deceit or misrepresentation; prescribing, administering or dispensing a controlled substance to an addict; and unlawfully prescribing a controlled substance.
Another hearing is scheduled for April 23.
