After an altercation with several photographers at LAX, Russell Brand was taken into custody by police. According to witnesses, Brand and his fiancee Katy Perry were walking through the airport when they got upset with the paparazzi and the comedian began pushing them.
After making physical contact with several of the photographers, security was alerted. Officers detained the group while investigating the situation. Brand was taken into custody at the LAPD Pacific Division after a photographer filed a formal battery complaint, causing the couple to miss their flight to Las Vegas.
Singer Katy Perry took to her Twitter page to set the record straight and defend her future husband: “If you cross the line & try an put a lens up my dress, my fiance will do his job & protect me. #standbyyourman #don’tfu*kwiththeBrands.”
The couple, who met at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, just celebrated their one year anniversary. Katy Perry made headlines midweek for dissing her high school crush.
