Priscilla Presley, the senior member of the celebrity contestants on Season 6 of Dancing with the Stars, hit a wall this week when she received the fewest votes. The 62 year old tried to dazzle the audience on Monday evening with a routine that had her doing the splits. That was absolutely a feat, in and of itself, but the rest of her Rumba was a mess according to the judges.

Apparently at home viewers felt it was time for the frozen faced contestant to head into the sunset. Presley enjoyed some early success with professional dance partner Louis van Amstel but as the rest of the competition showed improvement, Presley’s talents began to wane. Judge Len Goodman called Presley’s Monday performance “too careful”. People in their seventh decade are crazy that way, Len.

The competition continues next Monday night with the remaining seven stars including pro football player Jason Taylor, Olympic skater Kristi Yamaguchi, R&B singer Mario, and actors Shannon Elizabeth, Cristian de la Fuente, Marlee Matlin and Marissa Jaret Winokur.

Kristi Yamaguchi looks like the competitor with the greatest chance of claiming this season’s title. Her athleticism and experience with dancing on ice skates make her nearly a shoe in. Speedskater Apolo Anton Ohno won season four. Other winners were race car driver Helio Castraneves, former NFL footballer Emmitt Smith, actor Drew Lachey and actress and model Kelly Monaco.
