Prince Harry, sporting a blue Mets cap, made an appearance on the pitchers mound at Citi Field on Saturday to threw out the ceremonial first pitch before the New York Mets took on the Minnesota Twins game.
The pitch was a little ragged but crossed the plate, and was successfully handled by Mets catcher Rod Barajas. The Brit wiped his brow in mock relief and then posed for a photo with Barajas.
Third in line to the British throne, Prince Harry has been involved in several military-themed events during his three day stay in New York. He joined West Point cadets for some live fire exercises on the shooting range with M-4 assault rifles. He will also take part in a charity polo match on Sunday.
Aside from his military career, the Prince has expressed a desire to do charity work alongside his girlfriend Chelsy Davy in Africa. He feels a strong obligation to carry on the work that his mother Princess Diana embraced before her untimely death in 1997.
