Saturday night’s mock debate between Comedy Central’s Jon Stewart and Fox News guy Bill O’Reilly produced some interesting one-liners.

The event, dubbed “The Rumble in the Air-Conditioned Auditorium,” brought the two men together for a 90-minute stint of political banter that was aggressive at times but always tinged with good-natured jousting.

Stewart on cutting public TV subsidy: “Give me back the $800 billion for the Iraq war and children’s television is on the house.”

O’Reilly weighed in on the ‘47%’ controversy: “About 20 percent of us are slackers. And it’s a growing industry.”

Stewart on who he would save if the country was burning: “I would save Oprah. She’s worth about $100 billion.”

Both men agreed on Social Security, which prompted Stewart to remark, “Then we’re both socialists.”

Stewart used a mechanical pedestal lift in order to appear taller. He quipped, “I can see why Obama did badly in the debate. The altitude really is rough up here.”

O’Reilly made an observation about Americans, “I want the folks to be more involved. Fifty percent of the people know nothing. ‘Jersey Shore’ people, you know those people, the ‘Colbert’ watchers.”
