Neil Patrick Harris accepted Harvard University’s 2014 Man of the Year Award on Friday.
“I assume this is for that pudding wrestling competition I won last April…right?” the “How I Met Your Mother” star joked when learning he was this year’s recipient of the annual Hasty Pudding Award. “It was dark and seemed quite seedy at the time – I’m stoked that it’s connected with Harvard. Fancy! Can’t wait!”
“We are pleased to present Mr. Harris with our Man of the Year Award honoring his distinguished contributions to the arts and entertainment industry,” said Tony Oblen, President of the Hasty Pudding Theatricals.
The Emmy Award-winning actor donned a black wig, bra and red high heels to accept the Hasty Pudding Theatricals’ annual Pudding Pot on Friday.
“I felt remarkable good in heels,” Harris said after the ceremony, which included a celebratory roast for the Emmy Award-winning actor.
Following the roast, Harris attended the theatre’s debut production of “Victorian Secrets,” a play about a secret society of Harvard students in the 18th century.
Harvard’s 2014 Woman of the Year was Helen Mirren, who accepted her award last week.
