Lily Tomlin let slip last night that she and her long-time partner Jane Wagner may exchange wedding vows now that the Supreme Court has paved the way for same-sex unions.

The comedian revealed Monday at a Pre-Emmy Peer Group reception, “Jane and I have been together for 42 years. We’re thinking maybe we’ll get married.”

Referring to the recent landmark court rulings on DOMA and Prop 8, the former ‘Laugh-In’ celeb said, “We didn’t think that would happen. It’s pretty remarkable.”

The actress explained, “We don’t really need to get married, but marriage is awfully nice. Everybody I know who got married, they say it really makes a difference. They feel very very happy about it.”

Tomlin, 73, and Wagner, 78, are certain about a few things, “No rings, no bridal dresses.” Then she joked, “Maybe we’ll be dressed like chickens.”
