Kelly Slater and Bar Rafaeli
Surfing champion Kelly Slater was detained by Israeli police when photographers tried to snap pictures of him with supermodel Bar Rafaeli.
Just before dawn on Saturday, Kelly Slater and Bar Rafaeli were leaving a hotel in Tel Aviv where photographers were waiting outside. In an effort to keep them from taking pictures, Slater pushed them and a brawl broke out. Slater was taken in for questioning and later released.
Ironically Slater was in Israel to promote peace with the groups Surfing for Peace and One Voice to promote reconciliation between Israelis and Palestinians.
Some people may remember that Bar Rafaeli’s boyfriend at the time, Leonardo DiCaprio was involved in a similar incident when he visited her in Israel earlier this year. I think it is safe to say the breakup rumors are true.
