During the semi-final round last night on ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ Kellie Pickler received support from country artists Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley.

Paisley said, “Knowing what she has overcome in her life, it’s so inspiring. Whatever opportunities have been presented to her … her talent, charisma and personality find a way to win that moment.”

‘Idol’ winner and pal Carrie Underwood said, “I think Kellie’s gonna win because she’s just so dang likeable and she’s so dang good.”

Before Kellie took the floor last night to perform a Flamenco with pro partner Derek Hough, a video detailing here early life revealed that she was raised by her grandmother in a modest trailer after her mother abandoned her and her father was sent to prison.

Despite having few resources, the spunky teen from Albemarie, North Carolina became a cheerleader and beauty queen. Things changed drastically when the 19-year-old was encouraged to audition for ‘American Idol’ in 2005.

The talented small town girl demonstrated a quirky personality that made her a Simon Cowell favorite during Season 5. She placed sixth in the competition but it proved to be the springboard for a record contract.

Her first hit was ‘Red High Heels’ in 2007 from her album ‘Small Town Girl.’ The breakout single earned her an Academy of Country Music Award nomination for ‘Top New Female Vocalist.’

Brad Paisley put her in his music video ‘Online’ in 2007 and she appeared with him during his 37 city ‘Bonfires & Amplifiers’ tour.
