TMZ reports that TLC reality star Mama June Shannon is dating a convicted child molester named Mark McDaniel.
McDaniel was released in March after serving a ten-year sentence for sexual assault. He had been dating Shannon at the time of his arrest and sources say that his 8-year-old victim was a relative of hers.
TLC has stated that the future of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo is in question in light of this news.
“TLC is not currently in production on Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” the network says. “We are very concerned about this new information and are reassessing the future of the series.”
Shannon’s daughter claims her mother is not dating McDaniel, and she in fact cut off all contact with him after he was arrested.
“The story is not true,” 14-year-old Lauryn told Radar Online. “My mom left Mark 10 years ago. They haven’t seen nor talked to each other in 10 years.”
June Shannon has yet to speak publicly about her alleged relationship with McDaniel, but is expected to make a statement in the near future.
