TV Azteca sports reporter Ines Sainz finds herself in the middle of a sexual harassment scandal that began on Saturday at a New York Jets practice and escalated in the players locker room afterward.

The reporter appeared on the Today Show Tuesday and revealed that she did not feel “attacked” while interviewing quarterback Mark Sanchez. It was the reaction by another reporter that caused the situation to escalate to the point where Jets owner Woody Johnson, the NFL and advocacy group AWSM have become involved.

Shortly after the news broke over the weekend, a secondary firestorm ignited — with detractors calling out the reporter for her sexy manner of dressing while conducting her duties from the sidelines and in the locker room. Many suggest that her clothing choices may be sending mixed signals to NFL players.

During the Jets home opener against the Ravens on Monday Night Football, Sainz reported from the sidelines but did not enter the locker room afterward. Baltimore won 10-9.

Sainz isn’t buying this logic and she is being supported by the Women in Sports Media group. A spokeswoman pointed out that “it doesn’t matter whether she was wearing skin tight jeans or sexy lingerie…harassment is unacceptable under any circumstances.”
