Howard Stern weighed in Wednesday night at an ‘America’s Got Talent’ event about an on-air radio admission by David Arquette that he has fallen off the wagon after two years of sobriety.

The 41-year-old actor entered rehab in October 2011 in order to save his marriage with actress Courteney Cox. They remain friends and business partners but she eventually filed for divorce and it was finalized in May 2013. Their daughter Coco is 9.

Radio shock jock Stern acknowledged, “My feedback is that I love David Arquette. He’s a fantastic guy. If you’d ever get to interview him or know him, he is the salt of the earth. One of my favorite people in the world.”

“And I trust that David is grownup and knows what he needs to do and that’s what he conveyed to me. Right now, whatever he’s going through, I’m always there for him.”

Monday Arquette phoned in to Stern’s Sirius XM radio show and admitted, “I’m a drinker, so yes, I drink a lot.” When Howard asked him about pot, he replied, “Yeah, I smoke a little weed.”

His reason for falling off the wagon? David explained, “I’ve been sober for two years and four months. I was feeling like I wasn’t being that true to myself, like what I enjoy and this and that.”

Arquette told his friend, “I’m afraid to be honest with you and with the world because people are so cruel to each other.”
