Singer and actress Hilary Duff has found herself on the troubled Hollywood families list after her father was arrested yesterday and sentenced to 10 days in jail.
The arrest was a result of Hilary’s mother dragging her ex to court to try and get $25,000 to throw a 21st birthday party for Hilary. He had apparently been tapped two years earlier to shell out money to fund a bash for sister Haylie.
The judges verdict–Bob was ordered to pay $12,500 for the party and spend the next 10 days in jail. Why you might ask? Because it turns out that Bob was selling assets without the approval of the court – and we’re not talking about little items here…we’re talking $367,537 worth of goods.
Now this all seems silly when, in all likelihood, any number of trendy night clubs out there would have been happy to host a party for Hilary.
