In 2008 chef Todd English and actress Eva Longoria teamed up as business partners and opened Beso restaurant in West Hollywood. They opened a second Beso in Las Vegas in 2009. The Vegas eatery has filed bankruptcy.
Beso LLC filed Chapter 11 on January 6, stating that the restaurant has $2.5 million in assets and $5.7 million in debt. The operation is located in Crystals complex in CityCenter.
Eva owns a third of the operation and is personally responsible for $1.1 million on an unsecured loan and another $375,000 for legal fees that she took care of on behalf of the company.
Both locations remain open at this time. Longoria released a statement to the AP indicating that the reorganization plans will include closer involvement on her part. A meeting with the creditors is scheduled for February 10.
