TLC has pulled the plug on reality docudrama “All-American Muslim” after it’s inaugural season.

Despite positive reviews for the series about five Lebanese American Muslim families living in Dearborn, Michigan, TLC canceled the series after ratings dropped from 1.7 million viewers for the season premiere to 900,000 for the season finale.

The show drew criticism from the Florida Family Association who called All-American Muslim “propaganda that riskily hides the Islamic agenda’s clear and present danger to American liberties and traditional values,” and urged members to email the program’s advertisers.

Retail giant Lowe’s pulled their ads, stating, “While we continue to advertise on various cable networks, including TLC, there are certain programs that do not meet Lowe’s advertising guidelines, including the show you brought to our attention. Lowe’s will no longer be advertising on that program.”

Russell Simmons, Mia Farrow and Kal Penn joined Christian and Muslim groups and boycotted Lowe’s in a show of support for the series.
