Kanye West reportedly bought his way out of trouble in Beverly Hills after agreeing to pay an 18-year-old assault victim a civil settlement of $250,000.
The unidentified youth spewed a racist rant at Kim Kardashian in front of an L.A. office building on January 13. The kid ended up getting pummeled with punches by West, as his reality star fiancee looked on.
After initially filing a police report, the teen reportedly reached out to Kanye’s camp to talk about a possible payday. When that avenue began to look feasible, the kid quit cooperating with a police investigation.
A spokeswomen revealed Tuesday that evidence in the battery case was turned over the the Los Angeles District attorney on Monday.
It remains unclear if the DA will continue to prosecute the charge now that the victim is no longer willing to cooperate in the case.
In a previous assault case between the Yeezus celeb and a photographer, West was charged with misdemeanor criminal battery and attempted grand theft after grabbing the man and his camera at LAX. He was arraigned in October 2013 and the case is still pending.
