‘Biggest Loser’ trainer Jillian Michaels had some explaining to do last night on the NBC reality weight loss show after it was discovered that she had broken the program rules.

During the weigh-in on Tuesday night’s episode, it was revealed by host Alison Sweeney that something very disturbing was about to adversely affect the white team.

She warned, “Before you all step on the scale, there is something important that needs to be addressed. Last week, Jillian broke the rules and gave caffeine supplements to each member of her team without doctor’s permission.”

Sweeney went on to explain that it was “for fairness reasons” that the white team received a 4-pound penalty and the previous week’s results were invalidated.

Previously eliminated red team contestant Ruben Studdard will be allowed to return to the ranch to continue training with Dolvett Quince and Bob Harper‘s blue team had their previously won immunity restored — making last night’s weigh-in a two team competition.

Jillian’s team lost and Craig Arrington got the boot. The rule breaking trainer defended her actions, “I stand by my opinion, a caffeine supplement is significantly healthier than unlimited amounts of coffee. My only regret is that my team, they’re the ones suffering the consequences of my professional opinion.”

Did NBC handle it properly by punishing the entire white team for the transgressions of their trainer or should Jillian have been the one sent packing? It depends on who you ask…
