Kristen Bell Didn't Feel Maternal During Pregnancy
New mom 'House of Lies' star Kristen Bell covers the December issue of Flare magazine with a frank discussion about the adjustments that she needed to make after giving birth to her first child..
As most first time moms gush about how connected they felt with their child during pregnancy -- that isn't how Bell felt.
She acknowledges, “I love people the more I know them, and I didn’t know her. It could have been a water bottle in my belly, that’s how connected I felt to her during my pregnancy."
Bell, 33, became concerned about her "lack" of feeling and told her husband Dax Shepherd of her fears.
The actress admits, “I kept saying to him in all sincerity during my pregnancy, ‘I just don’t know how I’m going to like her as much as I like the dogs.’”
Kristen reveals, “I was being serious because I f—ing love my dogs; they are my children. But within about 24 hours after she came out, my hormones reset and they reprogrammed my feelings about her.”
Fast forward 7 months and now Kristen says she is in full blown protective mode, “I would really not like to see the aftermath of the first person who tries to take a picture of Lincoln. There are going to be a lot of stitches.”
