Actor Woody Harrelson told Jimmy Kimmel that he could “barely stand up” at the Hollywood premiere of ‘Free Birds’ on Sunday.
The 52-year-old actor really was a mess as he walked the red carpet with the help of co-star Owen Wilson. He warned his pal at the start of the high profile event, “You’re doing all the heavy lifting here. I can barely stand up.”
He told Kimmel, “I think the premiere was at noon and I went to bed at 6:30 or 7:00 a.m. Having stayed up all night, drinking tequila and playing pool with my brother. Being awakened, like, three and a half hours later was terrible. It was like a betrayal.”
He added for emphasis, “It wasn’t pretty.”
During the Q&A session he relied heavily on his co-star to field all of the reporters questions. He recalled, “So we’d be in the middle of the interview and they’d ask him a question and talk for awhile. Then he’d go, ‘What do you think, buddy?’ And I’d be like, ‘Well, I agree with you.'”
The animated kid’s movie ‘Free Birds’ hits theaters Nov. 1.
