Actress Amanda Bynes has been transferred from UCLA Medical Center to a Malibu-based rehab facility with a strong focus on mental health.

Reports indicate Bynes made the move 3 weeks ago, with the blessing of her parents who petitioned for Conservatorship months ago in order to extend a 5150 psychiatric hold of their daughter, who was diagnosed with schizophrenia after starting a driveway fire in Thousand Oaks, California in July.

Rick and Lynn Bynes issued a new statement through their lawyer Tamar Arminak: “Upon the recommendation of the skilled healthcare professionals at UCLA Medical Center, Amanda is receiving specialized treatment in a private facility and is making great strides towards recovery. The family requests some measure of privacy so they can focus on Amanda’s health and well-being.”

He added, “They would like to thank all of Amanda’s supporters and well-wishers for their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.”

Bynes is reportedly under the care of one of the best psychiatric doctors in the state and is doing really well. She is expected to remain in rehab for at least 90 days and depending on her progress will transition to a more freedom-oriented treatment environment.
