It has been two weeks since ‘Late Night’ host Jimmy Fallon announced the birth of his baby daughter Winnie Rose. He revealed this morning that he and his wife used a surrogate mother.

Fallon told Savannah Guthrie that 46-year-old Nancy Juvonen, a film producer, opted not to carry the child because of fertility issues the couple had experienced in the past.

He acknowledged, “This time we just said we’re not going to tell anybody, it’d be just more fun if it’s just private between me and my wife and then we get to introduce her to everybody.”

That led to a communications scramble when Winnie arrived, “When it happened we were in shock. We’re like, ‘Alright, who do we tell? Who’s going to be mad at us if this gets out?’ We had to call everybody and it’s so emotional when you call everybody.”

The infant arrived the day after Prince George of Cambridge, which prompted a hilarious monologue by the first time father.
