Leah Remini, who gained fame on the sitcom ‘King of Queens,’ has reportedly broken ranks with the Church of Scientology after years of interrogations and thought modification.
According to an exclusive New York Post report, “She is stepping back from a regime she thinks is corrupt. She thinks no religion should tear apart a family or abuse someone under the umbrella of ‘religion.'”
Blogger Mike Rinder, a former Sea Org member, claims that while Remini was attending the 2006 wedding of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, she innocently inquired about the whereabouts of the conspicuously absent Shelly Miscavige, the wife of Tom’s Best Man – Scientology leader David Miscavige.
The actress was promptly told by former Scientology Celebrity Center head Tommy Davis, “You don’t have the f—ing rank to ask about Shelly.” FYI – the woman she inquired about hasn’t been seen in public since attending her father’s funeral in August 2007.
It wasn’t long before Remini was blacklisted within the church and put through a process of thought modification over a period of five years. During this time frame her former church friends wrote internal reports that caused an investigation of her family.
According to a post by journalist Tony Ortega, who reports on Scientology, Remini was ordered to go to Scientology’s spiritual headquarters in Clearwater, Florida for an extensive “Truth Rundown.” During her sessions, the actress would have been under intense pressure to confess that it was her own evil intent that caused her to say something negative about David Miscavige.
Her family, high ranking members of Scientology, are standing by her and have assured Leah that they will not let the church drive a wedge between them.
Remini issued this statement: “I wish to share my sincere and heartfelt appreciation for the overwhelming positive response I have received from the media, my colleagues, and from fans around the world. I am truly grateful and thankful for all your support.”
We expect that every talk show host on the planet is beating down her door to get the dirt on Scientology.
