Country artist Trace Adkins beat out Penn Jillette to win the first ever ‘All-Star Celebrity Apprentice’ Sunday night on NBC.
Adkins was crowned the grand champion after surviving the 12 episode ‘All-Star’ cycle of the reality show. He earned $1.5 million for his charity, the Red Cross, after last night’s $350,000 was added to his season total. Jillette pulled in nearly $600,000 for Opportunity Village.
The country crooner had this to say about his worthy opponent during the final showdown, “Penn Jillette is the most ethical atheist I’ve ever met — but I’m bringing Jesus. He’s got Teller and they do magic trick, but Jesus makes blind people see – it’s unbelieveable!”
Later he took another dig at Penn, “He’s brilliant – but the devil always is.”
Jillette won the final ice cream challenge but Trace raised more money on the opening night of their ice cream launch — thanks to a $200,000 donation by Tim Tebow.
Just before Donald Trump announced the winner, Trace said confidently, “Going into this last task I think I delivered the best ice cream, I made the best commercial, I put on the best show, I brought in the biggest celebrities and I raised the most money.”
He tweeted after winning, “Thanks to everyone that watched, bought, tweeted, donated and cheered! Your love will give @RedCross so much! Team Trace”
They say timing is everything. That said, his new album ‘Love Will…’ was released on May 14, 2013. Will his new All-Star status help to boost record sales? If it does you can count on Donald Trump to claim it was all his doing…
