Martha Stewart is seeking a male companion via the online dating service Match.com, with some personal assistance from the chief executive, Sam Yagan.

She appeared on TODAY Monday for a candid discussion with Yagan. He told her, “What we know we can get you is some great first dates. I think finding a soul mate for you might be a little bit difficult, but I think first dates are easily doable.”

The kitchen diva acknowledged, “I’d like to have breakfast with somebody. I’d like to go to bed with somebody. Sleep with somebody.”

The business maven is worth $650 million and was perfectly willing to use her real name on the dating website but the CEO cautioned her not to, “only because I think it would be distracting to those initial conversations.”

Dan Slater, the author of a book based on seven years of research about online dating, is married to Stewart’s niece. He offered, “This is a subject that has been on her mind for a long time. She’s ready to go.”

Martha, 71, revealed: “I had a long-time boyfriend. That ended a couple years ago. And I haven’t found the next Mr. Right.”

When she first attempted to fill out the Match.com online application, she became intimidated by the line of questioning.

“I started to laugh halfway down the page. It was, like, impossible.”

In case you’re interested … she is looking for someone “young-ish,” “active,” “outdoor-ish,” “really smart,” and “successful.”

TODAY host Matt Lauer recently ran into Martha Stewart at a baseball game. He told her during the dating segment, “A friend sitting with me asked to be set up with you. I didn’t know what your situation was.”

She immediately responded, “For heaven’s sake. I’ll give you my phone number. All of them!”
