Joan Rivers has never been one to mince words and at this stage in her life she isn’t letting up. Grammy and Academy Award-winning artist Adele is the target for her latest jabs.
The insults have targeted Adele’s weight. A few weeks ago while shooting the bull with David Letterman, Joan mocked the singer, saying that she should have named her hit song “Rolling in the Deep Fried Chicken.”
Marc Lamont with HuffPost Live chatted it up with Rivers yesterday and the conversation morphed to her mean-spirited comments about Adele, prompting another barrage, “She’s a chubby lady who’s very, very rich, and she should just calm down — or lose weight!”
When Adele requested an apology for the trash talk, the comedian claims she “took an ad out on Adele’s ass.”
Joan then tried to smooth things over with a compliment that was quickly followed by yet another slam, “Adele is beautiful and successful. Let’s face reality: she’s fat!”
Adele isn’t the only mega star that Rivers enjoys trashing. She wants to see Tom Cruise come out of the closet, isn’t an Ann Curry fan and says that Jay Leno “doesn’t f***ing get it.”
Early this month the ‘E! Fashion Police’ co-host launched a new online YouTube talk show called ‘In Bed with Joan,’ featuring a different celebrity guest each week who “comes out of the closet” during an interview filmed in Joan’s bedroom.
Nothing is off limits for the always controversial 79-year-old icon. Check out a clip of her recent chat with Letterman below:
