Musician Nick Carter of Backstreet Boys fame put a ring on the finger of his fitness expert girlfriend Lauren Kitt earlier this week.
Carter, 33, and Kitt, 29, took a few friends and her father on a boat ride to a small island off the Florida Keys when the singer dropped to one knee and presented a seven-carat diamond ring to his girlfriend of four years.
Nick recalls, “She said, ‘Yes,’ and I’m, like, ‘I don’t know what to do.’ She said, ‘You’re supposed to put it on my finger.’ So I did. I was in shock.'”
Aspiring actress Lauren admits, “I wasn’t expecting it. It just felt very surreal. We both are just so happy in love right now and on cloud nine.”
Carter tweeted a photo that he captioned, “Big question … great answer.”
Regarding a wedding date, the couple acknowledge that really isn’t up to them, but will need to be planned around the schedule of the band members, who are currently working on a new album and have a sold-out fan cruise set for October to celebrate their 20th anniversary.
