After toying with the idea of starting his own network, Tyler Perry has negotiated a new partnership deal that has him moving in a different direction.

He has penned an agreement with pal Oprah Winfrey to create new programming for OWN, the network that the former talk show maven launched with Discovery Communications in January 2011.

After a slow start Oprah’s ratings are improving thanks to her series of high profile interviews. The network expects to turn a profile in 2013.

Perry has been tasked with the creation of two original scripted series that will begin airing on OWN in 2013. The talented movie and television producer is already skillfully juggling three shows on TBS: ‘House of Payne,’ ‘Meet the Browns,’ and ‘For Better or Worse.’

The 43-year-old bachelor lives and works in Atlanta, where he operates the Tyler Perry Studios out of two former Delta Air Lines buildings. He has full ownership of his movies, and Lionsgate Entertainment serves as his distributor.
