Broadway and television actress Kristin Chenoweth was rushed to a Manhattan hospital late Wednesday afternoon after being hit on the head by a piece of equipment that collapsed while she was on the set of ‘The Good Wife.’
The CBS show was filming in Brooklyn when a large gust of wind sent an overhead light crashing down on Chenoweth’s head. She fell to the ground and hit her head on the concrete sidewalk.
A witness thought initially that the petite actress was dead after she witnessed Chenoweth take a hit “square on the head” that “knocked her out cold.”
Paramedics treated the popular NYC entertainer on the scene before transporting her to nearby Bellevue Hospital where she was admitted.
The 43-year-old actress was filming a guest appearance on ‘The Good Wife,’ portraying a hot shot political reporter when the accident occurred.
CBS issued this statement, “All of us at the studio and the show are thinking about Kristin and wishing her a quick recovery.”
