It didn’t take long for the former power couple known as TomKat to end their failed union. Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise have reached a divorce settlement.

A mere two weeks after the actress reportedly blindsided her husband of five years with a divorce filing, both sides reached a firm deal after a marathon negotiating session in Manhattan over the weekend.

Katie’s attorney Jonathan Wolfe confirmed the news: “The case has been settled and the agreement has been signed. We are thrilled for Katie and her family and are excited to watch as she embarks on the next chapter of her life.”

In a nod to the ‘Top Gun’ actor’s camp, Wolfe said, “This result could not have been achieved without the hard work of my partner and our co-counsel. We thank Tom’s counsel for their professionalism and diligence that helped bring about this speedy resolution.”

Tom’s lawyer Dennis Wasser confirmed the signed agreement: “All the lawyers and the parties are happy that it’s done, the deal was closed and we wish everyone well.”

As for Katie and Tom, they issued this joint statement: “We are committed to working together as parents to accomplish what is in our daughter Suri’s best interests. We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our respect for each other’s commitment to each of our respective beliefs and support each other’s role as parents.”

The agreement gives Katie primary physical custody in NYC, but Tom has significant unsupervised custodial time with his daughter. The custodial provisions of the agreement are extremely explicit about a course of conduct, including what Tom or Katie can discuss with Suri on the subject of religion, but those restrictions will be eased as Suri gets older.

Holmes was raised Catholic and reportedly ended the marriage to save her daughter from the clutches of Scientology. She will reportedly enroll her daughter in a private school in Manhattan in the fall.
