Adam Levine is in final negotiations to star on the second season of the FX television thriller American Horror Story.

The Maroon 5 frontman is no stranger to TV, currently appearing as a judge and mentor on the hit music competition The Voice.

According to AHS co-creator Ryan Murphy, season 2 will be set on the East Coast in a “horror institution.”

Original cast members Jessica Lange, Zachary Quinto, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, and Lily Rabe will be back but this time as entirely different characters.

Murphy revealed, “This will really be the Jessica Lange show so I’m excited about it. She has a lot of ideas and a lot of input into her character.”

Series exec’s have indicated their willingness to work around Levine’s summer tour schedule. He’ll play a contemporary character as one half of a couple who will be known as “the lovers.”

The new season will premiere in October.
